The best time for a safari?
What vehicles are used?
4×4 vehicles adapted for safaris.
How much does it cost?
It's difficult to give a definitive answer; a safari is certainly not a budget vacation. Costs depend on several factors, including the type and location of accommodations, trip length, number of people, and the time of year. To simplify, we can classify accommodations into three categories:
– Tented camps or luxury lodges, starting from €700.00 and up to over €1,000.00 per person per day.
– Mid-range tented camps or lodges, starting from €400.00–€600.00 per person per day.
– Tent accommodations, approximately €250.00 per person per day.
It should be noted that these prices are indicative and include all meals and overnight stays, transportation, a guide, park entrance fees (very expensive, especially in some areas), and, if applicable, a domestic flight.
Is it dangerous?
Considering the number of accidents and the number of tourists who choose safaris every year, definitely not! However, it's important to remember that animals are wild and unpredictable; although they may appear tame in some parks, they are NOT. Don't be fooled by their relaxed attitude and proximity to vehicles; they're simply accustomed. This is why it's essential to contact qualified, experienced professionals who can recognize animal behavior and avoid potentially dangerous situations.
What vaccinations are needed?
Can I bring children?
Absolutely! Many lodges and tented camps offer family or connecting rooms/tents, perfect for families with children. Combining a photography safari with a beach holiday (for example, Tanzania and Zanzibar) is a perfect option for a trip with children. For safety reasons, however, some camps require a minimum age, usually 6 years old. Always specify the ages of all participants and make sure there are no restrictions.
